A London Xmas in 24 Hours

17 December 2013

With so many things going down all over the city this month it can be hard deciding how to make the most of those few days off work. So, we’re bringing you our top tips on how to spend 24 hours in the bright, bustling lights of London.

Kick start the day with a larger than life breakfast at The Breakfast Club where you can gorge on big-bellied breakfasts that are full of energy. From The Full Monty to American Pancakes this diner style café is a great way to get your festive celebration off with a wholesome bang.

For the AM, visit the Southbank Centre Christmas Market. Here you can pick up any last minute gifts you need. From home-made ginger bread (great for grandma) to unusual jewellery, prints and images you can get all your Christmas shopping done in one go. Have a mooch for an hour or two before making your way to central London, we suggest hopping on the tube for this one.

For lunch, we suggest you make it a quick one, so pop in to the next Pret you see (well they are on every street corner) and grab their Christmas Lunch sarnie. With turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce it’s bang-on and great fuel for the rest of the afternoon! It's actually not too shabby.

The PM has to be spent getting lost in the wonders of Liberty London, only window shopping mind with those hefty price tags. After, wonder down Carnaby and Regents Street taking in all the OTT Christmas lights before heading around the corner to Covent Garden. Here, relax and take 5 at Laduree for a macaroon and cappuccino #energyboost.

For evening entertainment it has to be a show. The options are pretty much endless in London so it really depends on what style you prefer. There’s all the West End classics such as Mamma Mia!, Wicked and Matilda or if you fancy something a bit more festive then what about The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House or Swan Lake at Sadler’s Wells.

To round off your day exploring, touring and tasting the sites of London, it’s time for a drink! Grace Bar in Piccadilly will help you unwind after a very busy day with their very merry Christmas cocktails including Red Berry and a Golden Mojito – grab your 2-4-1 voucher here.

That’s the Christmas job done, all in a days of work!
