Facebook Induced Emotions

19 August 2014

There actually was a time before Facebook. Remember it? I hardly. Coincidentally it was a time with less emotions involved. Indeed, 'new' emotions have emerged from the all-consuming social world.

Let’s face it, on an hourly basis there are things that *can* happen on Facebook that produce emotions that our grandparents did not have. Yes, they had their stresses (that probably were more reasonable), but we, we have digital stresses. Such as Facebook stresses. Here are the 20 emotions Facebook induced (thanks).

1. Someone tags you in a really, like really, unflattering picture...

2. You wake to discover that you have poked an ex while drunk...

3. That feeling you get when one of your friends update their status more than 5 times in the space of a few hours...

4. You've created an event and your friends have said no or maybe...

5. When your ex suddenly changes their relationship status to "In a Relationship”. Dagger to the heart has an all new meaning with Facebook, it's literally in your face...

6. There really is nothing quite like logging in and having a new friend request from someone you flirted with, swoon.

7. But then there's that unpleasant agony when someone has unfriended you...

8. That kind of adrenalin and anticipation when you've updated your profile picture and wait for reactions...

9. You wait ten minutes and in this time have had no new likes, none, not one, nothing...

10. At the other end of the emotion spectrum we have that almighty spike in jubilation when you log in an hour later and got over 50 likes, come the f**k on Bridget.

11. When you send a new friend request and they don't accept...

12. When you and your boss are friends, but you realise you haven't deleted or hidden your most drunken pics or bitchy work posts...

13. You post something really funny, but no one likes or comments…

14. And when you post something super funny that only you & your best best friend understand...

15. When the HOTTIE you fancy likes your picture...

16. Those who cannot stop the selfies...

17. When you decided to stay in but then see the pictures from last night...

18. When your friends post beachy, fabulous pictures from Barbados and you're in a rainy London...

19. When someone sends you another Farmville or Candy Crush Saga invite…

20. When someone writes a post that could easily pass for a short novel...
