If Fashion Week Were A Cocktail

17 February 2014

LFW is in full swing and we have to say, it’s been a great week. From the ‘big reveal’ at Mulberry, which announced an exciting collaboration with Cara Delevingne...

...through to the divine Sophia Webster shoe presentation, AW14 fashion is looking strong and totally wearable for this fall.

Much like this years BAFTA’s the celebrity turnout this year has been nothing short of impressive, with the likes of Olivia Palermo, US Vogue bigwig Anna Wintour, Kate Moss, Coco Rocha, Ashley Madekwe, Poppy Delevingne and Kelly Osbourne just some of the celebs gracing the FROW. Also, who could forget the paparazzi scrum when Kendall Jenner made an appearance at the Topshop Unique show sitting next to none other than Anna Wintour herself?

So we got to thinking, if our favourite runway shows were cocktails, what would they be? A classic Cosmopolitan? A Pornstar Martini or how about a Mojito? Here’s our five favourite designers who showcased at LFW:

An iconic fashion house, which has managed to successfully reinvent itself over the years thanks to the genius Christopher Bailey. To us they are nothing less than the Dubonnet, it perfectly represents Burberry’s classic British heritage. Allegedly a favourite of the Queen, part gin and part Dubonnet with a splash of lemon juice, it represents Burberry’s British roots seamlessly.

A classic British brand, which produces timeless creations each season. Mulberry is the epitome of ladylike chic, so of course they would be a Cosmopolitan, but with an elegant twist. The Elderflower White Cosmo is part vodka, part elderflower juice and part white cranberry juice, served with a flower to garnish. One of those and a Bayswater to go please.

Topshop Unique

It’s been shaping the way we dress since our teenage years, yet Topshop STILL knows how to capture the public’s imagination with their edgy and modern designs. Aimed toward the Cara Delevingne’s, Jourdan Dunn’s and Suki Waterhouse’s of the fashion world, Topshop Unique would definitely be a Rosehip East – an impossibly cool cocktail from Callooh Callay, which features tequila, Lillet rouge, lemon juice and maraschino.

Matthew Williamson

He’s long been a favourite of classy socialites and actresses including, Sienna Miller, Poppy Delevingne and Olivia Palermo, and Matthew Williamson’s visually appealing collections still remain a firm favourite on the fashion week schedule. A Bucks Fizz suits Matthew’s well-dressed clientele perfectly – it’s a classic tipple, which is part orange juice and part Champagne, a classic you just can’t go wrong with.

House of Holland

The go-to-designer for cool, quirky London street-wear, Henry Holland has a cult celeb following from the likes of It girl, Alexa Chung, to Kelly O and Nicola Roberts. His cocktail-du-jour would definitely be a Pornstar Martini, made from Absolut vanilla vodka, Passoa, passion fruit and Prosecco, resulting in an epic treat. Delicious.

So, whilst we may not all have had front row seats this fashion week or indeed be able to afford the eye-watering prices attached to some of these beauties a round of drinks in honour of our favourite designers seems like a fitting treat.
