Something for the weekend

7 February 2014

Have you noticed everything in the shops is red, pink and covered in love hearts? Whatever your stance is on V-Day, there's something about a red dress that will always have that timeless wow factor.

You'll always feel sexier in red, it has magical mystical properties. Prefer something less Jessica Rabbit? Pink is another loved up colour to opt for this Valentine's. Whether you're looking for love, madly in love or couldn't give two hoots about love, the heart adorned Vivienne Westwood heels below are pretty much guaranteed to give you a spring in your step.

One thing is for certain, that pink Balenciaga purse I've included would be much more appreciated than flowers, chocolates or teddy bears. Please, Mr Cupid?

1. Colourblock Dress by ASOS - £35

Oh hiya, oh so flattering peplum shape! The dreamy ice-creamy colours of this dress are reason enough to want it immediately, but the fit and flare shape is the sauce that seals the deal.

2. Secret Siren Necklace by Oasis - £20

Are YOU the secret siren?

3. Arena Wallet by Balenciaga - £345

We do not need any fussing in the form of fancy dinners or flowers if Cupid can arrange for this to appear on Valentine's Day. This purse is the real definition of love at first sight.

4. Box Pleat Dress by River Island - £45

Be the retro lady in red in this completely gorgeous number. With that sweetheart neckline all you need to add is some flicky eyeliner, killer heels and vampish lippy. Would look amazing with cat eye sunglasses if by some miracle the sun comes out.

5. Lady Dragon Heels by Vivienne Westwood for Melissa - £150

Adorable, rain appropriate AND bubblegum scented? Yes please!

Buy them here.

6. Shift Dress by Love - £36

Pink does not have to be girly. If you prefer something a bit tougher then a collared leopard print dress like this one is just the ticket.

Buy it here.

7. Striped Skater Dress by Jovonnista - £50

Go all zig-a-zig-ah in this ziggedy zaggedy red and white dress. It's designed to accentuate your waist and skim past the hips and bum, making it oh so flattering and easy to wear.

Buy it here.

8. Nambia Heels by French Connection - £99

They're chunky and we need them. Now. The heel on these bad boys is a whopping 13cm although the platform does make that a lot more bearable. Surely they're the prettiest shade of pink you ever did see?

Buy them here.

9. Hermione Dress by Reiss - £49 (reduced from £195)

You WILL be centre of attention and the boys WILL sing Chris de Burgh at you all night, but who cares when you'll look this amazing? Satin, chiffon, rouching, asymmetric details, cut outs - this dress is a proper show stopper.

Buy it here.

10. Flapper Dress by Miss Selfridge - £150

The magazine world have fallen over themselves to feature Miss Selfridge's stunning range of flapper dresses. Yep, they're more pricey than you'd expect for a dress from Miss Selfridge but they are fully sequinned and embellished - and that doesn't come cheap. DO get in a flap about this dress.
