Something for the weekend

9 January 2014

Our fair city has just played host to the fourth London Collections: Men, a kind of mini fashion week for all things menswear.

Menswear used to get lost in the hullabaloo of London Fashion Week so now it has it's own dedicated platform to show off the immense design talent that London harbours.

I'll be writing more on LC:M shortly (don't worry boys, your time is coming!) but as I've been backstage surrounded by beautiful boy models all week I couldn't help but put a masculine twist on this week's shopping post.

So there'll be no sequins, no skirts and no frills this week. We're going blokey. And we're loving it.

1. Silver Suit by Topshop - £45 (reduced from £150)

I can't believe this suit hasn't completely sold out yet, that sale price is cray cray! An amazing high impact outfit as it is, but both the jacket and trews can be worn separately easily enough too. What on earth are you waiting for?!

Buy it here.

2. Pinstripe Wool Blend Coat by Mango - £49.99 (reduced from £99.99)

I have this jacket and I *live* in it. It's such a flattering, fash forward shape. Typically, I bought it full price, so I'm a bit bitter that it's now 50% off. You can take advantage though!

Buy it here.

3. Shoreditch Sandals by ASOS - £35

It's hard to explain the joy of owning silver shoes, but the fact that these have a shimmery holographic finish make them even more desirable. Throw in that directional cut away detail and we just have to have them.

Buy them here.

4. Angora Knit by Carven - £90 (reduced from £225)

Petrol blue was a big trend on the LC:M catwalks and this super soft knit would make quite the investment piece. Tony the Tiger would approve.

Buy it here.

5. Stadium Jacket 574 Trainers by New Balance - £69.99

I'm not quite sure when the fash pack decided that New Balance were the trainers of choice, but you can't go to catwalk show without seeing tonnes of them on the FROW. Comfort *and* style, whoddathunkit?

Buy them here.

6. Limited Edition Lamé Jacket by The Kooples - £192.50 (reduced from £385)

The Kooples have always played with gender and the idea of what makes womenswear womenswear and menswear menswear. Whilst I can't imagine a great many guys wearing this jacket ('cept for Prince, maybe?) I'm slightly in love with the blokey cut and the 80s shine.

Buy it here.

7. Max Loafers by Topshop - £35

As IF there wouldn't be tassled loafers in this list! They're the best part of rocking any masculine trend!

Buy them here.

8. Kensington Watch by Nixon - £170

Similarly to loafers and brogues, most girls have an 'oversized' watch these days. It's pretty rare to see a dainty silver number on a girl's wrist! We're not sure if we should blame Casio or Michael Kors but the masculine watch is here to stay and I'd highly recommend you opt for a Nixon if you're in the market for a new one. I wore this one on a shoot and fell slightly in love with it.

Buy it here.

9. Leopard and Leather Sweater by Sea NY - £168 (reduced from £420)

A sports luxe sweat that you can wear with practically anything, for less than half the original price. Get it in the basket!

Buy it here.

10. Backpack by Herschel - £55

The show going boys love their backpacks and Herschel is a firm fash crowd favourite. I clocked someone wearing this outside the E.Tautz show yesterday and nearly offered to buy it off him right there and then, but luckily you can just get it on ASOS. *Phew*.

Buy it here.
