Something for the weekend

24 January 2014

Chances are that one of your resolutions for 2014 was to dust off your trainers and kick some exercise ass. And what makes exercise easier? NEW FITNESS GARMZ!

January tends to inspire a new-found enthusiasm for lycra (okay, maybe enthusiasm is a step too far) and I know that I'll be more likely to buy a new gym bag than handbag this weekend, but you don't have to be bored by black baggy t-shirts and 'show off your sweat stains' grey trousers. *Shudder*. There are PLENTY of fab activewear options on the high street.

Of course, after a sin-free day of running, swimming, lifting and squatting you deserve to party a bit so don't forget that various Late Night London bars have a new range of 'Skinny Cocktails' on their menus. Have you seen the Moscow Lassi? Or the Pommartini?!

I reviewed six of the new Skinny Cocktails at Grace (read all about my important 'research' here) and I have to say that the new skinny salads were pretty darn special too.

But that's enough chat, let's SHOP. (Then run. Then booze).

1. Vest by H&M - £14.99

I love this vest so much. Heck, I love the whole matchy matchy outfit so much. Obviously this wonderfully bright look isn't for wallflowers, but if you want to make a statement then you won't find anything as cool anywhere near as cheap.

Buy it here.

2. Running Gilet by Mango - £39.99

This ultra-light gilet will make facing the cold outdoors much more bearable. It won't restrict movement and has pockets for little essentials.

Buy it here.

3. Splice Swimsuit by Speedo - £30

Swimming is my personal favourite form of exercise but if you're training a lot then you need really good endurance fabrics, otherwise you'll be left with a baggy, shapeless, bin-worthy swimsuit in no time at all. This Speedo number is about as chlorine-resistant as they come.

Buy it here.

4. Carry Me Om Tote by lululemon - £118

The pun-like name is enough of a reason to make me want this bag immediately, but naturally it helps that it's super gorgeous - and exceptionally roomy - too.

Buy it here.

5. Sports Tights by H&M - £14.99

These slightly awesome trousers are made from a fast-drying functional fabric and you won't want to take them off. Ever.

6. Vest by H&M - £19.99

You don't have to be going to military fitness classes to appreciate the need for a bit of khaki green in your life.

Buy it here.

7. Nike Air Pegasus 30 iD by Nike - £115

Runner's World awarded this trainer their much coveted 'Best Buy Award' in 2013 and thanks to the brilliant Nike iD customisation process you can create a pair that is truly bespoke.

Buy them here.

8. Windbreaker by Mango - £44.99

This ultra-light jacket already scores points with its reflective graphics and breathable mesh panels, but for added training versatility you'll find that the sleeves can detach too. Very nifty.

Buy it here.

9. Track Pants by Zoe Karssen - £110

Okay so you probably won't want to run a marathon in these track pants, but they're very comfy and very cool...and recovering in style is important too, right?

Buy them here.

10. Tee by Wildfox - £32 (reduced from £80)

Because maybe all this gym malarkey just isn't really your thing.

Buy it here.
