All that glitters...

21 November 2014

Sorry folks, but I can't wait til December to bust out the sparkly garmz. I'd happily wear sequins all year round if I'm honest, but you generally have to wait until the so called 'party season'...

...(it's always party season in my book) to be able to find an abundance of glittery goodness in the shops.

Yes, sequinned dresses can be hazardous (always remove with care unless you want to look like you've been in a fight with a particularly scratchy kitten) and you will inevitably get your hair caught, but everyone likes to shine bright like a diamond, right?

Happy shopping!

1. Necklace by Miss Selfridge - £12.50

The easy way to jazz up any outfit.

Buy it here.

2. Dress by Hoss Intropia - £375

Ideally you'd pair this dress with a natural tan, but that's not always doable in December. In any case, do not be tempted to ruin the gorgeousness of this dress by pairing it with tights - it's a modest length so bare is best.

Buy it here.

3. Heels by L.K. Bennett - £225

Okay so these are a bit spendier than I'd like, but I'm yet to find an 'as perfect' pair for less on the high street. The subtle heel and modern bow make them equally wonderful with party dresses as they are with distressed jeans.

Buy them here.

4. Top by Yumi - £25

You can get a lot of mileage from a top like this; jazz it up for evening, layer it under a suit or just wear with jeans. It also comes in gold and I'm tempted to buy both.

Buy it here.

5. Maxi Skirt by Phase Eight - £120

This is truly the stuff of dreams.

Buy it here.

6. Playsuit by Miss Selfridge - £65

I think I'd need to be ten years younger to attempt this, but there's no denying that it's entirely awesome if you've got the legs to wear it. (I don't think I had the legs to wear it ten years ago either, to be fair).

Buy it here.

7. Shoes by Dorothy Perkins - £29

If you want a pair of glittery shoes but are sensible enough to appreciate that you may not wear them that much outside of December, grab a cheap-o pair like these. They don't look cheap and the bow is delightful.

8. Dress by Jane Norman - £37.50 (was £50)

Pair with killer heels (black preferably, Loubies ideally), red lips and the best blow dry you can get.

Buy it here.

9. Dress by Miss Selfridge - £55

Sometimes you really do just need a solid silver sequin dress. Trust me.

Buy it here.

10. Dress by Rare - £38

Cape shapes are hugely underrated. This dress is fun when you're sober, but once you've had a few Christmas cocktails you will amaze yourself at how entertaining wearing a cape can be.
