Predictions for the Rugby World Cup

8 July 2015

With the 2015 Rugby World Cup fast approaching, The team at Late Night London have come up with some predictions...

...and the games to watch after the opening match with England Vs Fiji on Friday 18th September at 2000hrs!

Pool A

Labelled as the group of death, group A will be fascinating! With three teams in the same group who could all be considered as potential winners, it promises to be a tense and high quality pool with rivalries to match. England and Australia are two teams that have become synonymous with success on the rugby world cup stage.  If Wales play to their potential, they have the physicality and strike runners to cause any team problems.

England to win the pool with Wales as Runner Ups.

Game to Watch: England Vs Wales Saturday, September 26 2015 Kick Off 2000hrs

Pool B

Pool B is interesting; obviously South Africa will be firm favourites to top this pool, but there are four other teams in the group who are all capable of beating each other.  It’s a tough call between Scotland and Samoa, but I feel that Scotland will edge it on point’s difference.

South Africa to win the pool with Scotland as runners up.

Game to Watch Scotland Vs Samoa Saturday, October 10 2015 Kick Off 1430hrs

Pool C

New Zealand will begin this pool as nailed on favourites, and should win every single game comprehensively. Tonga Vs the currently World champions will be a very physical affair with huge hits coming from both teams.

New Zealand to win the pool and Argentina as runners up.

Game to Watch New Zealand Vs Tonga  Friday, October 9 2015 Kick Off 2000hrs

Pool D

Pool D will be interesting, Ireland and France will both expect to qualify from this pool. Italy won’t be afraid of Ireland and France and will target them as two games they could potentially win. If France lose their opening match against Italy, pool D will make for very interesting viewing!

Ireland to win the pool and France runners up.

Game to Watch Ireland Vs France Sunday, October 11 2015 Kick Off 1645hrs

Predicted quarter finals

If the quarter finals pan out as predicted, England and Ireland will both fancy their chances of reaching the semi finals. Both Wales and France are capable of upsetting the odds with France being The All Blacks nemesis at previous World Cups and Wales finally beating South Africa in their last match!

QF 1 -Wales v South Africa
QF2 - New Zealand v France
QF3 - Ireland v Argentina
QF 4 - England v Scotland
