We'd like to cordially invite you to meet the team behind the party. Say hello to Gill from Late Night London's Meetings & Events team.
Q. What excited you to work for Late Night London?
I had previously worked at Tiger Tiger in Aberdeen a few years before deciding to move to London. I started there waitressing while I was at University and then I started to work in the office helping out with the sales and events team and really enjoyed it. Having already worked alongside Late Night London, I though it seems like a fun place to work and the right step when deciding to move to London. I was also looking forward to working across such a broad portfolio of venues and not just the one. I originally started as a Christmas temp and I am still here five years later!
Q. How do you think the events industry will evolve over the next 5 years?
I think a lot is going to change over the next few years. We have started to get more briefs where clients are looking for something a bit different and unique in terms of venues and entertainment. It is great that Late Night London are constantly updating and refreshing venues but we are also going to have to be more creative with our offering as we have noticed a rise in client’s budgets. Our newer venues are starting to incorporate experiential activities which is something that clients are asking for more and more.
Q. If you hadn’t gone into the events industry what would you have done?
That’s a tough question! I have a real passion for cooking and I always loved helping out in the kitchen as I was growing up so perhaps I would have done something to do with this! I would love to have my own little café or beach bar one day.
Q. Which has been your favourite event to work on since you joined Late Night London?
My favourite event which I have worked on was at The Loop a couple of years ago. A media company hired the whole venue for their Christmas party for 1000 guests which was made up of their staff and clients. They transformed the whole venue into a “Towie” theme and it looked amazing!
