If you're dreaming of new season dresses (whether braving bare legs or not!) then you'll be pleased to know that the high street is ram packed full of beautiful dresses at the moment.
You don't have to spend much to find something a little more unusual, either. I've got a seemingly never-ending shopping list this season but thankfully there are plenty of interesting shapes and beautiful detailed pieces that are well in budget.
All but two of these 'hey! look at me!' dresses are below £50, but I couldn't resist suggesting splashing out on the Karen Millen and limited edition Topshop ones, because they're pretty damn amazing.
1. Dress by Topshop - £48
I'll be the first to admit that I like crochet more than I probably should (if you could make a crochet house, I would definitely live in it) but this crochet dress is sophisticated and different....a far cry from the white tasselled crochet styles that you might associate with the beach and, errrrrr, Mariah Carey.
2. Dress by The Whitepepper - £48
THAT COLLAR THOUGH.
3. Dress by Warehouse - £45
Topshop had a similar design to this in their stores last summer and it was a huge sell-out, I think I prefer the stripes of this one though...it will do clever things to your waist.
4. Dress by Zara - £45.99
Sorry kids, it's not real leather, BUT it's less than fifty quid and has fun rivet details at the hem...so everyone's happy! Especially the cows.
5. Dress by Karen Millen - £199
Ahhhh Karen Millen, the annoyingly expensive 'high street' store that we all wish we could shop in more. I usually have to wait til I get to an outlet (Cheshire Oaks reprazent) but I am going to save up for this dress as it's special.
6. Dress by Topshop - £150
Okay let's get the other spendy dress out of the way. If your waist is one of your better features then this dress will do magical things for you. I am always happy to spend more to make my waist seem smaller, but as an added bonus this skirt shape is also great for disguising big bums like mine too. I also have a pretty huge crush on the airtex fabric.
7. Dress by Mango - £34.99
You don't want neat uniform polka dots this season, you want big arty spots and bellowing sleeves and a little waist tie and....oh wait, THIS DRESS HAS ALL OF THAT.
8. Dress by Love - £34
More stripes, more optical illusions and something you'll definitely wear again and again. Pair with bare legs and massive round sunglasses once it's a bit warmer.
9. Dress by Topshop - £45
I've written here before about my love for Topshop Unique SS15 and all its sporty wonder, but it IS expensive (let alone hard to find thanks to its mammoth success). Luckily, the main Topshop line has brought out some similar styles which are more budget friendly and less likely to sell out over night. This dress in particular could easily be Topshop Unique but is a more reasonable £45.
10. Dress by Zara - £29.99
I refuse to step away from the knitted dresses. Yes, this is definitely for when it's warmer....but it's great. Really great.
