Knowing my luck, it will be sunny and glorious by the time this is published. But at the time of writing it was absolutely hammering it down and London was a superbly horrid shade of grey.
My hair is currently slicked down with rainwater and I am wearing a coat inside, so I can't quite bring myself to write about summery wardrobe staples.
Instead I will show you some of my favourite pieces for rainy weather, because London is an unpredictable place at the best of times and there'll be many more rainy days ahead during the "great British summer".
Don't get too wet!
1. Mac by Noisy May - £48
I love a clear mac, it shows off the outfit underneath and just feels that bit more summery....even if the weather doesn't. What I really like about this one though is the baseball jacket style collar.
2. Umbrella by Cath Kidston - £18 (was £26)
If you haven't tried a 'birdcage' umbrella, you're missing out. They protect your hair better than other styles and they look fab. The downside? You can't fold it and shove it in your handbag. I've lost three by leaving them behind in bars.
3. Trainers by Nike - £75
You don't need wellies to brave the wet pavements, a decent pair of trainers are usually good enough when boots feel too wintery. Opt for a bright pair so you can at least pretend it's cheery out.
4. Pac a Mac by ASOS - £25
IT HAS ICE CREAMS ON IT.
5. Umbrella by Accessorize - £12
This brolly does fit in your handbag....and is just a little bit ooooh la la.
6. Mac by ASOS - £45
Superb vintage vibez. An 80s mum would, so I will too.
7. Mac by Topshop - £40
Again, great for showing off your outfit underneath. The Mondrian-esque trims give it an extra edge.
8. Wellies by Hunter - £95
Okay so they're not cheap (at all) but these wellies are stylish enough for the city and don't scream FESTIVAL, even though you could wear them to a festival if you wanted.
9. Mac by ASOS - £45
Be a space cowboy. (Even space cowboys have to fight the rain sometimes).
10. Umbrella by New Look - £7.99
Pretty florals make grey skies seem less.....shit?
