Where to Eat Healthy this Summer

17 May 2016

There’s no reason to throw clean eating out of the window this summer. Look great and feel great on your night out with these amazing dishes from LNL.

We all know it’s going to happen – you’ve been sticking nicely to your clean eating regime for a few days or weeks and then a big event or night out comes at you from round the corner.

While a few G&Ts or the odd glass of wine on a weekend certainly won’t hurt, eating out before digging into the cocktails can be tricky to step around, and no diet or lifestyle habit should EVER stop you from having fun, ever!

Luckily, we here at Late Night London understand the woes of headed out with your favourite people and worrying how you’re going to avoid inevitable temptations. It’s for this reason that we’ve been introducing a new, lighter menu at many of our bars, involving mouth watering dishes that you wouldn’t believe are as healthy as they are.

For some inspiration on where to enjoy your pre-drinks meal, take a look at these exquisite offerings.

Abbey Bar

This cool, laid-back hub on the edge of the City district is usually revered for its simple pub classics and sandwiches, but amongst all that there is innocence to be found. Try out the curried paneer and courgette salad, with crisp little gem lettuce and deliciously refreshing minted yoghurt. We promise that with a side of the roasted butternut squash and thyme, it’ll more than prepare you for the evening ahead.

Amber Bar

Amber’s divine dish of sweet chilli salmon with sweet potato fries and crunchy asian slaw is just too good to resist, packing omega 3s galore through the fish and healthy fibre and vitamins from the sweet potato. This simple blend of lean protein with complex carbs is just perfect for a night on the town, whilst also being light enough to allow you onto the dancefloor. Amen to that.

At our cool hip haven in Mayfair’s Berkeley Square, you can pretty much rest easy tucking into any of the lush salads on offer. Now before you think about running in the other direction, hear us out – these are not just any salads.

Choose from crunchy kale, radish and ripe mango with walnut and ricotta and a citrus vinaigrette; butter lettuce, pear, almond, cherry tomato and Oxford Blue, or kiln-smoked salmon, baby gem, carrot, cucumber and croutons with a delightfully zingy sour cream dressing. Each of these carefully prepared dishes is perfectly balanced, packed with vibrant flavours and colours and awash with nutrients, in order to keep you going all night long.

Forge is a sea of blissful euphoria, built within an opulent base of pleasantly industrial glamour. Within it you can find the pit & spit - usually known for its glazed meat delicacies, but there is plenty of filling alternatives that aren’t going to weigh you down.

Why not try out the roasted beetroot and new potato whole food salad, with butternut squash and asparagus? Besides packing a fistful of your five-a-day, it’s also bursting with varied flavours and will keep you sated before hitting the cocktails.

The Gallery

When meeting friends in London’s City, few places can beat The Gallery. Perfect for after-work drinks or a celebratory meal, it boasts a range of wines by the glass or the bottle as well as a platitude of dishes via its beautiful open kitchen.

If you’re not craving a burger or a piled-high toasted sandwich, the salmon fillet on warm nicoise salad or spinach and wild mushroom risotto should both do the trick.
